RESUMEN

Background: Serum interleukin 6 (IL-6) levels have been studied in the diagnostic evaluation of patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) disease (COVID-19). Methods: We studied the utility of treatment with tocilizumab in COVID-19 patients (n=19) with a negative nasopharyngeal swab real time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test for SARS-CoV-2 who had suggestive computed tomography (CT) findings, namely, COVID-19 Reporting and Data System (CO-RADS) 4,5. Results: Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve analysis showed that serum IL 6 at a cut-off of >56.9 pg/L was a predictor of mortality in nasopharyngeal swab RT-PCR negative patients with suggestive CT findings. Tocilizumab had no significant effect on the mortality. Conclusions: In nasopharyngeal swab RT-PCR negative patients with suggestive chest CT findings, elevated serum IL-6 levels > 56.9 pg/L predicted mortality. However, treatment with tocilizumab had no effect on mortality.

RESUMEN

Smart door locking systems have become more sophisticated as technology has advanced. Though an automatic password-based door lock system provides a more secure method of locking and unlocking the system, because of the ongoing COVID situation, it is extremely dangerous to touch the keypads, which are frequently used by different people. Hence, in this project, we use RFID tags and Arduino. The RFID card reader detects and validates the user's access. When the card is brought close to the reader, it recognizes the radio-frequency of the card and thus verifies its authenticity, key along with beeping sound, LCD display and LED blinking. We have also connected a sensor, which will be very useful during the nighttime for operating the door. In addition to this, face recognition technique and SMS alerting system can also be implemented in this project for enhanced security. This system is extremely valuable because of its low cost of construction, advanced capability, and simple interface. A fire alarm can be added to this system. We don't usually have fire alarms at home. Therefore, this device can serve as a lock and a fire alarm. Mainly, this project is designed and implemented to enhance security with ease of convenience. This system can be used in main doors, private rooms, and lockers in our home or even hotel rooms, banks, classrooms, use any other location as a secondary lock for added security. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

RESUMEN

COVID-19 thrashed the field of education with a greater challenge by sudden forced closure of educational institutions and to seek for alternative approaches in present mandatory forced physical distancing. The task of efficiently tune the learners to equip with global competencies and to nurture the skill for developing services to meet the utmost requirements of the society. As the present condition is uncertain and keeping this aspect in view, as a best compensation to the existing forced loss to learners, the educational institutions in India adopted virtual mode for regular teaching and learning processes. Virtual approach is not a new mode but it was confined to special learning aspects rather than traditional mode of teaching as of now. Under these circumstances, being an immediate alternative to the existing huge loss, several challenges need to be addressed such as the immediate adoption of this online pedagogy by engineering educators of different levels. The present paper describes the results of survey conducted on teachers of different levels and different specialisations conducted in July-August 2020. In the first phase of study, the survey is conducted among senior career educators regarding the faculty and learner confidence in technology enabled learning and in the second phase of study, the extent of interaction by the educators with the learners and parents and Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK) ability of educators is studied. social contact during this period. Further, 90% of them trying their best to enhance their teaching skills by the effective utilization of online teaching aids to make it as best as conventional pedagogical process and 10% of them reported that they have not utilized online teaching aids at all. © 2021, Rajarambapu Institute Of Technology.
